Simplerizing
A Simplerizing Exercise
Try the problems below in Roman numerals.
Then try the same problems in regular (Arabic) numerals.
Don't forget to show your work! (haha)

Using Roman numerals, many or most would be considered
"arithmetically or mathematically challenged".
Arabic numerals are not only simpler but also work better,
allowing far more people to master arithmetic.
Each number system is a way, a model or a paradigm.
A transition from a cumbersome number system
to a simpler, more useful one is a paradigm shift.
This is one example of simplerizing.

Could the industrial, information,
knowledge and consciousness ages
have ever developed with Roman numerals?
Would the Internet exist?
How else might life be different?
